12x18" Mixed Media on Watercolor Original - King of Swords

This is the one. Not a print of it, not a reproduction, not a very nice file — the actual piece of paper I sat with, cursed at, and eventually signed.

King of Swords, 12×18 inches, mixed media on heavyweight watercolor paper. Hand-drawn and hand-painted in the Art Nouveau tradition: whiplash line, radiating web, an ornate border grown from the frame inward. Layered ink and paint, worked wet and dry, with linework I laid down by hand and cannot repeat — which is the entire point.

Up close it does things a print can't. The ink sits on the paper. The paper has tooth. There are places where the brush hesitated and I decided I liked it.

Edition: One of one. There is no second copy and there never will be.
Condition: New, never displayed. Sold unframed and unmatted so you can frame it your way.
Made: By hand, in Norman, Oklahoma, by a person with paint on her hands

Framing note: 12×18 is a standard frame size, so you won't be hunting for custom work. A mat looks excellent on this piece if you're inclined. Behind glass, out of direct sun, and it'll outlive both of us.

Returns

Damaged, defective or wrong item? Email a photo within 30 days of delivery and we'll replace or refund it, no return needed. Made-to-order items can't be returned for size or a change of mind. Originals are final sale unless they arrive damaged. Returns & Refunds.

Care

Prints: frame behind glass and keep out of direct sun. Apparel: wash cold, inside out, tumble dry low. Stickers: apply to a clean, dry surface. Originals: frame with a mat so the surface never touches the glass.
