Inner Child is a one-of-one original, hand-painted and hand-gilded in the Art Nouveau tradition. A girl in a marigold dress sits on a curling bench beneath a sunburst halo of gold leaf, framed by white irises that did not ask permission to be this dramatic. Her stuffed elephant is patched, lopsided, and loved well past the point of structural integrity, which is the whole point. Some things we keep because they kept us.
